Zvi Suchet’s The Radiant Portal
The South African Jewish Museum is excited to be hosting the world premiere solo exhibition of South African Fine Artist, Zvi Suchet’s beautiful, evocative photographs on mystical Jewish themes – The Radiant Portal.
In a preview of the Zvi’s work, Aish.com described it as “a complete refresh of a centuries-old subject.” This lavish and truly unique exhibition will give viewers a peek into Zvi’s magical world of complex Talmudic symbolism as shown through his distinctive mix of photography and photo illustration. Inspired by his Jewish identity, these evocative images are engaging on an aesthetic and spiritual level.
About the Artist:
Zvi Suchet is the Hebrew name of world-renowned photographer, Marc Hoberman, well known for his best-selling coffee table books. Based in Cape Town, South Africa, his career began at the age of 12, when he published his first book – a collection of philatelic photography of stamps depicting ancient Jewish coins – which was inducted into the Smithsonian permanent collection. Over the years, Zvi has worked in a wide range of photographic disciplines – wildlife, landscape, aerial, street photography, fashion and Hollywood portraiture – winning awards for each and being published in over 35 books. www.zvisuchet.com
