Wolfson was born in Manchester, England in 1937 to an orthodox family. He immigrated to South Africa in 1949. Wolfson studied music in London and Vienna and worked as a music teacher before starting to paint seriously in 1972. He studied painting under Sydney Goldblatt and George Boyes. He has held exhibitions at a variety of galleries in Cape Town and Johannesburg. Wolfson has lived in Cape Town for the past 20 years. This will be his first exhibition at the South African Jewish Museum.
