Set in Stone | joe turpin
In this solo exhibition, "Set in Stone," artist Joe Turpin presented a blend of mixed media installations and paintings. Through this diverse array of artworks, Turpin embarked on a compelling exploration of Jewish identity and history, delving into personal memories, loss, and mourning.
MIMESIS | Moran Kliger
In her solo exhibition Mimesis, artist Moran Kliger deals with the transition between culture and nature. She explores the tensions between the civilised and wild elements of the human psyche. Kliger’s work deals with hybridity and transformation. She creates a hybrid world somewhere between reality and imagination, creating a new, different environment.
A SELECTION FROM OUR COLLECTION
The artworks that were seen on display formed part of the South African Jewish Museum’s art collection. We regularly showcase the works of established and emerging local Jewish artists. After each exhibition, these artists donate one of their pieces to the museum. These donated works form the basis of the museum’s art collection.
